Job Description

The Logistics Manager shares responsibility for the supervision of the Shipping Department and actively participates in the daily Receiving, Shipping/Order Processing, and Inventory Control processes, reports directly to the Plant Operations Manager. The Logistics Manager responsible for all receiving of inbound materials, and for the selection, preparation, and shipping of all outbound materials.

- Performs inspections of inbound and outbound goods.
- Selects and stages products in preparation for shipment; builds boxes, crates, and pallets to required specifications as necessary.
- Executes the loading of outbound orders in a safe and timely manner.
- Reviews weekly inbound and outbound requirements, schedules receipts and shipments for maximum efficiency and available capacity.
- Tenders freight as necessary and within budgetary guidelines.
- Unloads and inspects all inbound material shipments, checking shipment against COA?s, packing lists, and BOL?s per company policies.
- Must have the ability to inspect, identify, and initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities and deviations from Company specifications.
- Ensures the shipments and receipts of all domestic and international orders are within legal DOT requirements and that all shipments are palletized and packaged in a secure and safe manner.
- Creates and processes the necessary shipping documentation, including customs paperwork, and makes the necessary computerized data entries.
- Operates material handling equipment and assists in their preventative maintenance per OSHA guidelines and Company policies.
- Operates handheld devices such as digital cameras, tablets, and/or scanners to collect data for shipping and receiving.
- Assists manager in arranging transportation, tracking shipments, troubleshooting failures, and responding to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping.
- Assures items are stored in designated areas and that proper storage and handling procedures are followed; follows company security policies in support of food defense and food fraud programs.
- Assists in converting the Company's strategic plan items as they apply to shipping, receiving and warehousing into goals and objectives for accomplishment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and assumes a shared responsibility in personal growth and development goals.

Working hours: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM

- Works well with minimum supervision; but accepts supervision including changing scope of work.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute daily schedule.
- Knowledge of WMS, ERP & MRP, and Transportation Management Systems.
- Demonstrated success managing carrier relationships and implementing performance trackers to maintain high customer satisfaction


4-7 years

- 5 + years logistics experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Logistics related field
- Experience with the application and management of export authorizations
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications preferred
