Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor will serve as a liaison between the shipper, carrier, and receiver. This position will locate available carrier capacity to ensure loads are executed on time. The Logistics Supervisor will build and maintain carrier relationships and quickly and proactively resolve problems that may develop while a load is being picked up, in transit, or during delivery.

Operation: Manage shipper and carrier relationships; negotiate rates within company guidelines. Build a network of carriers by prospecting, cold calling, and qualifying industry professionals. Build long-term, mutual benefiting relationships with shippers and carriers. Proactively manage carrier relationships to improve customer service, transit times and transportation costs. Book carriers on loads in a profitable and efficient manner. Manage daily shipping schedules and dispatch carriers for freight pick-up. Maintain daily tracking of loads in transit

Systems: Become a proficient user of the Transportation Management System (TMS) and associated components. Become a proficient used DAT Load Board and DAT Rateview

Safety and Compliance: Ensure only the use of carriers which meet company carrier vetting and safety requirements.

Customer Service: Continually maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers. Audits carrier performance to ensure service standards are being met.

Reporting: Ensures the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding logistics operations.

Budgeting: Participates in the preparation of budgets, revenue projections and account analysis.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

--Ability to build relationships with carriers that result in high customer satisfaction
--Ability to meet and exceed weekly/monthly goals
--Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
--Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
--Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
--Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
--Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, web-based and job specific software applications
--Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
--Ability to maintain organization and conduct follow up
--Work as part of a team

High School

1-4 years

??? Bachelor???s Degree in applicable field preferred
??? High School diploma required
??? Minimum 2 years??? experience in transportation brokerage industry
