Job Description

- Coordinates Yard/ Warehouse associates and drivers workload, arranging duties, dispatch of product deliveries and pick-ups, yard and warehouse activities, and provides input of departmental needs
- Efficiently manages paperwork; ensuring timely submittal of requisitions for replacement stock, accurate data entry of returns, delivery notations, confirmation of inventory shipments/ receipts and other customer updates and follow-up
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
- Follow procedures for receiving and stocking of inventory
- Monitor and assist in minimizing shrinkage and maximizing inventory profitability
- Oversees the maintenance and cleanliness of the lumberyard, ensuring that stacks of wood stay neat and that the yard has a clean appearance
- Formulate and plan the execution of a "projects list" to be completed, on a short and long range timetable, by the team
- Assign sales territories and set sales goals for the organization's sales representative
- Advise the sales representative on ways to improve sales performance
- Analyze sales statistics gathered to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and to monitor customers' preferences
- Maintain contact with dealers and distributors
- He/she will act as the store manager when the store manager and assistant manager are absent
- Hire, train, motivate, supervise, and schedule personnel to meet customer needs

Skills:
--High School diploma or equivalent
--Ability to make calculations such as discounts, interest, freight estimates, dimensional weight, proportions, percentage, area, circumference, volume, and invoices
--Must have lumber and building materials product knowledge-accurate with tape measure
--Knowledge in building codes, local ordinances, and zoning regulations
--Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints
--Vast knowledge of hardware related products and home projects is a plus
--Strong leadership and analytical skills
--Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
--Must be able to operate a computer
--Must be able to operate fork-lift to demonstrate and /or load and unload lumber when needed
--Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
--Competency in placing special order
--Willingness and ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs
--A valid Florida driver's license; the driver's record must be acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier and must conform to all restrictions listed on the license in order to operate any Company vehicle
--Forklift certification, this must be maintained throughout employment
