Job Description

Spherion is seeking a Machine Operator Helper for our client in Cameron, TX. Our client is a furniture manufacturing company with a long history in Milam County. The ideal candidate will help the machine operator by preparing materials to be shaped by machines, and performing additional work on products output by machines. This position is considered a "Machine Operator in Training". The successful candidate will be able to assist the machine operator in by ensuring that the ideal amount of material is used throughout the manufacturing process, and that scrap is minimized. . We're looking for a highly organized, methodical professional with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in terms of safety, security and accuracy. This opportunity is a temp to hire position that has a beginning pay rate of $9/hour, and is an excellent opportunity for the right professional.

Responsibilities:
You will work in a manufacturing environment and ensure the quality of products manufactured. You will be responsible for preparing materials prior to being placed in machines for manufacturing, monitoring machines during the manufacturing process, and performing additional work on the finished product produced by machines.
You will accomplish your tasks by:
- Following written and verbal instructions.
- Performing basic mechanical tasks.
- Maintaining concentration over a long period of time (6-8 hours).
- Lifting, carrying, and moving materials and scrap.
- Standing on feet for length of time (6-8 hours).
- Identifying errors, damages, etc.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Skills:
- Operation and Control: Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to consent to background screen if necessary.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment drug testing.
- 1-4 years of manufacturing, production, or machine operations.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) in a non-climate controlled environment.
