Job Description

Tends machine that performs packaging operation.

Assemble the dryer.
Starts machine and observe to detect malfunctions.
Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
Records temperature and airflow settings and product status (moisture, density and size when needed) every half hour on appropriate paperwork.
Collect all appropriate samples as needed.
Packages product appropriately when needed.
Insures that all packaging is labeled and recorded correctly.
Able to correctly shut machine down and disassemble for cleaning.

Working hours: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM

--Language skills: Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Able to write simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
--Mathematical skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
--Reasoning ability: Able to apply common sense understanding, to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
--Computer skills: Efficient at using "Process Pro" for packaging functions.
--Competencies: Collects and researches data. Attention to detail. Identifies and resolves problems timely. Communicates changes and progress. Able to read and interpret written information. Maintains confidentiality. Listens and gets clarification. Writes clearly and informatively. Able to read and interpret written information

0-1 years

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle and feel. Able to talk and hear. Frequently required to walk and reach with arms and hands.
Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and taste or smell.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places and extreme heat.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
