Job Description

Job Description:
Machine operators load various shapes and sizes of glassware onto a computer operated glass decorating machine. The glassware is placed onto vacuum chucks which hold the glass onto 8 station and 4 station glass cutting machines. The operator then presses the start button to begin the machine cycle. Machine cycle times vary from approx. 1.5 min. to 10 min. depending on the amount of cutting required on the piece. Average cycle time is approx. 3 min.

When the machine cycle is complete the machine operators remove the pieces from the machine, reload and restart the machine. The cut pieces are then rinsed in hot soapy water, cleaned, labeled, and packaged to specification. This procedure is repeated throughout the operators shift.   Operators are responsible for the quality of the product being produced. Each piece must be inspected for quality before being packaged.   Machine operators assemble boxes between runs on the cutting machines.   Operators are required to move necessary products in and out of their work area as needed with the use of a manual pump truck.   Operators are required to keep their work area neat and clean at all times. Operators are required to work safely according to plant and factory safety rules and procedures.   Operators keep and record accurate production counts on a production form kept at each machine.

Second Shift – 2:45pm to 11:15 pm and Third Shift 10:45 pm to 7:15 am – Sunday night to Friday morning
