Job Description

Setup, program and/or operate laser-marking and stamp equipment.
Produce high-quality products, which meet customer and design specifications while minimizing scrap/rework costs.
As a team member, participate, contribute and assist as necessary to meet goals and customer expectations.
Continually monitor methods, processes and procedures to assure meeting departmental goals relating to efficiency, equipment utilization and time usage in order to maintain or improve cost competitiveness.
Assist in the determination of production schedules, raw material needs, and manufacturing operations by communicating effectively with team members and support departments.
Assist with routine administrative tasks and department back-up functions to ensure the timely and effective completion of projects and the smooth operation of the department in support of team and divisional goals.
Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing established methodologies, i.e. Lean manufacturing (6S, VSM, 6 Sigma, etc.).
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that interfaces well with customers, clients, co-workers, and management members.
Follow and continually monitor established safety procedures to assure a clean and safe work environment is promoted and maintained.
Provide quality in all goods and services delivered to internal and external customers through an approach of thorough planning, responsible implementation, and continuous improvement.
Must have punctual attendance, and flexible scheduling including overtime and some weekends.

Working hours: MON - THUR | 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Skills:
Minimum of a High School Degree or equivalent experience required.
Mechanical background.
Interest in and ability to learn machining preferred.
Ability to plot a point in x and y coordinates preferred.
Ability to differentiate between different finishes, such as black oxide, nickel chrome and paint preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to use calipers to +/-.001 accuracy.
Ability to read a tape measure or ruler to within 1/32 inch.
Ability to read and interpret process routings, bills of materials and procedures.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to communicate effectively orally with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work overtime including weekends and alter hours as necessary.
Quality oriented, with attention to detail.
Must be able to read and understand written English.
