The machinist may perform set up or tending on all CNC equipment to insure quality and the most efficient process. Responds to problems with machinery and make adjustments that are necessary to keep production on line. Performs and records quality assurance checks on parts to insure precise production. The machinist makes offset adjustments and changes inserts when needed. Maintain accurate reports. Provide direction and training for all machinists. Clean around machines to insure a safe work environment.
- Operates all production and manual equipment with minimal instruction
-Measures parts, makes offsets and changes inserts with minimal direction
-Consistently maintains green light and efficiency objectives.
-Understands simple G codes
-Assists in the setup of manual and CNC equipment
-Performs all duties in the most cost efficient and cost effective manner.
-Improves efficiency whenever practical.
-Operates assigned machine and does minor setups with assistance.
-Maintains production objectives.
-Performs quality control checks on parts produced, using measurements from Blueprints, Travelers and/or Quality Plans. Provides accurate reports on checks being done.
- Inspects and keeps accurate count of parts.
-Accurately records labor hours and quantity of parts produced.
-Ability to identify quality problems.
-Cleans machine periodically to maintain proper operation.
-Performs machine shut down procedures at end of shift as required.
-Performs all duties in a safe, efficient manner and observe all appropriate Company safety regulations.
Working hours: 3:00 pm to 1:30 am Monday - Thursday
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school education and technical training or equivalent experience
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
The position has typical manufacturing shop-working conditions to include the presence of large machinery, elevated noise levels and continuous manufacturing process activity. The job requires sustained mental effort related to technical areas and physical activity.
--Shift: Night, 4 ten hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday - Thursday
--Pay $13.50/hour DOE + $1 for shift differential
--Pre-employment drug screen is required.
--Safety glasses are required, but company provided
--Steel toed boots required by the employee
