Job Description

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Plans machining by studying work orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
- Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including math, geometry and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chicks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops and stock pushers; indicating devices; tramming heads.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Working hours: M-TH 6AM-4:30PM

Skills:
Education:-A two year technical degree/certificate in machine tool technology or comparable work experience
Experience:-Three plus years of experience in a CNC machining work environment
Computer Skills:-Demonstrated skill and proficiency with CNC machine tool programming languages. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
--G&M code programming, machine set up, normal operation and even perform normal QC functions
--Knowledge of raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of company products.
--Knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments include, but are not limited to, calipers, ID/OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators and scales.
--Demonstrated skill and proficiency with CNC programming languages and process controls.
--Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the essential job functions.
--Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques as applied to the manufacture of the company's products.
