Job Description

Determines and implements solutions to production/ processing/ equipment problems either directly or in coordination with others. Directs and instructs technical personnel as needed. Performs complex work assignments.             

Gathers, maintains and uses data to find and solve the root cause of production problems within the plant. Uses and maintains preventative maintenance (PM) systems to manage employees, assets, and systems. Uses hands on technical knowledge to troubleshoot complex process and material problems. (May be called in for off-shift problems or required to stay late to solve a production problem). Works closely with Supervisors, Group Leaders, Production Mechanics, Maintenance, and Assemblers to solve problems in a team environment. Directs and instructs Production Mechanics, Back-Up Mechanics, and Maintenance personnel as needed. Develops work instructions and provides training to personnel regarding technical related issues. Stays current with new manufacturing processes and programming software. Advises superiors as to the status of production equipment. Maintains processes in order to meet Quality criteria. Conducts team meetings to inform, train troubleshoot and solve problems/issues. Performs production capability and safety studies on products, equipment, and tooling. Assists with maintenance and installation of Information Management System, communication systems, security systems and audio/visual equipment. Identifies and communicates Corrective Action. Performs accurate visual inspections and other duties as directed/required. OTHER


Persons in this job must be able to sit and/or stand all day (up to 10 hours), manually lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, squat, push/pull. PLC all production equipment, all production material, familiar with use of hand tools, gages, office equipment, programming software, all maintenance tools and equipment. This does not contain all the duties and responsibilities of a given job and must be used only as a guide. 


2 years of technical college or equivalent, experienced in machine programming, PC skills, communication skills, planning skills, interpersonal skills, technical troubleshooting skills, knowledge of injection molding, 3 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, Print Training, Basic understanding of routers and BOM’s, Electromechanical skills, computer science and Information Management Networks.
