Job Description

A growing Elkhart employer is looking to add a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to its team. If you want a work environment driven by passion, that has a positive attitude, treats each other as family and simply gets it done we have a super position for you.

Works with Director of Operations and Engineering Manager to achieve best production flow throughout the facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will assist in developing and improving the manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. Will work with the production staff/management team to maximize work flow and spatial utilization. They will apply the fundamentals of science and math to create practical, useful solutions that will improve our efficiency, quality and safety throughout the facility.

Working hours: 7:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Must be a team player and good problem solver with the ability to identify and meet deadlines.
- Enjoys a challenge and has effective communication skills.
- Pays attention to details and is able to summarize project status and update management
- The Engineer shall exhibit competency in MCAD software as necessary for his/her project load.
- Communicate and guide production personnel on proper assembly of products.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
- Work with production personnel to devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems.
- Work with production personnel to establish an effective and efficient work sequence for all product lines.
- Design and implement fixtures to aid in proper production manufacturing and quality control testing.
- Determine parts and tools required to achieve manufacturing goals.
- Use Lean Manufacturing to eliminate waste, improve quality, reduce production time and reduce costs of manufacturing.
- Use Six Sigma techniques to define, measure, analyze, improve and control any manufacturing or business process.
- Conduct 6S projects on any needed areas that need to be sorted, set, shined, standardized, sustained and made safe.
- Create work instructions for every new product and improve exist
- Assist maintenance in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues.
- Assist in training on new equipment.
- New product line start-up.
- ESD Coordinator for the entire facility.
- Understands manufacturing safety standards, OSHA regulations, environmental obligations.
- Must be competent in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint application software.
- Must be innovative and considered an expert in their field by keeping up with recent new developments and always seeking ways to increase their knowledge.
- Awareness of the importance of their role in obtaining Company Quality Objectives.
- Must have a basic understanding of safety standards (UL, CSA, TUV, etc).


4-7 years

A Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience (five to seven years equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment) is required.
