Job Description

Spherion Staffing in partnership with our client here in Mankato is seeking an innovative Manufacturing Manager. The Manufacturing Manager will drive continuous improvements in quality and productivity, and position our clients manufacturing capabilities for accelerated growth.

Responsibilities:
Productivity & Efficiency
- Effectively utilize staffing and cross-training to minimize labor content in equipment and reduce non-productive/indirect time

First Pass Quality
- Ensure training, work instructions and procedures are in place and being followed in order to maximize first pass quality to QC

On Time Manufacturing
-Set a schedule based on customer demand and all constraints. Deliver on time to the respective areas within the company

Continuous Improvement
- Utilize lean strategizes to reduce waste in scrap, overtime, delays, etc.
- Lead root cause analysis for problem identification

ISO Management & Reporting
- Ensure all department ISO documents reflect current processes and associates have been trained to them
- Report on ISO performance measures as required on a month, quarterly and/or annual basis

Employee management & engagement
- Recommend any changes, adds or reductions to the team
- Hire, fire, coach or train as necessary
- Keep all associate documentation current
- Evaluate and provide feedback on a regular basis
- Establish development plans and help facilitate employee growth
- Set department goals and objectives; track to completion

Budget
- Plan annual departmental budget and work within
- Recommend wage adjustments

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
To be successful in this position you must have proven experience in sustainable change management and process improvement with results oriented scheduling and production planning.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills with strong leadership style are required to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization and externally with suppliers and customers as well as effectively and proactively resolve production and personnel issues

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal working and light assembly, with 7+ years progressive supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment interviewing, production planning, coaching and evaluating performance. Preference will be given to candidates with Process Engineering or Lean Production experience in a manufacturing environment with specific knowledge in cellular build activities.
