Job Description

Under supervision of the Manufacturing Manager, assembles or fabricates mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment. Performs journey-level assembly, test, fit and rework duties of heavy hydraulic and electro-mechanical machinery, equipment and systems; provides work direction to and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the assembly of Company products; and provides support and assistance to the Manufacturing Manager.

Performs as lead assembler for the Company?s products.
Read, interpret, and follow assembly drawings and specifications, plans assembly and building operations for assigned products and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment. Provides work direction to and coordinates the activities of a group of assemblers; assigns and monitors work, and provides training as needed.
Ensures that work is completed according to detailed work instructions.
Positions and aligns components for assembly, manually or with a forklift, hoist or overhead crane.
Uses hand and power tools to fasten components and parts together; installs components, fixtures, hoses, wiring and electric components
Removes rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit; trims and cleans parts.
Re-works, repairs and replaces damaged parts or assemblies.
Performs touch-up and light painting.
Lubricates parts and components.
Prepares parts and systems for shipment.
Documents assembly and testing activities, and maintains assigned records.
Maintains work area and tooling, and product inventory; keeps tools and equipment in a clean and orderly.
May participate in the inspection, operation and testing of completed products.
May be assigned to perform basic electrical, painting, machining and welding duties.
May set up and operate metalworking machines, such as milling and grinding machines, to shape or fabricate parts.
Works safely at all times, and ensures that all safety standards are met and maintained.
Checks engineering drawings to ensure that all required tools are on hand for upcoming jobs; orders additional tools and supplies as needed; monitors supplies.

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) supplemented by formal education in mechanics and hydraulics; or a combination of education, training and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum of 4 years of heavy hydraulic mechanic experience in an industrial setting; experience in aircraft, automotive, diesel or heavy equipment mechanics.
