Job Description

Join a cutting-edge engineering firm to solve problems in industrial motion control! Our west side client is seeking one, full time mechanical design engineer. You would be working independently, but in a team environment, and responsible for designing and developing slip rings and slip ring accessories, for changing customer demands.

Mechanical Design Engineering:
-Conceptual Design: Develop functional designs which meet performance, dimensional and other requirements for a stated application. This can be for new product or an improvement for an existing one. Create drawings and supporting information for the purpose of conveying the design intent to the targeted customer.
-Testing: Plan and develop experimental test programs to include test requests, procedures and fixture development. Oversee and participate in performing tests. Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Evaluate engineering test results to clarify or resolve problems and prepare design modifications as required.

New Product/Project Development:
-Develop rotary electrical connectors that meet the requirements of different industries, environments, and electrical specifications
-Develop improvements of existing designs for changing customer needs, as well as new technologies as adopted by industry

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and basic computer skills.
-Exceptional 2D skills such as hand sketching and AutoCAD
-Equally exceptional 3D CAD skills such Mechanical Desktop or SolidWorks
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO, CE, UL, IEC and other certifications
-Exemplary knowledge of rotary seals, O-rings, and bearings
-Effective communication skills and team player mentality.
-Willingness to learn and try new things is highly desired.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, tolerances, and other production processes.
-Demonstrates persistence and moves consistently towards goals, having a solid work ethic that results in consistent accomplishment, and dependability.
-Ability to measure and analyze tolerance-critical components.
-Pride in work and desire for self-improvement.
-Ability to realize and aid in solving production issues.
-Experience with manual machining (lathes, mills, surface grinder)
-Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles


7-10 years

-Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
-Minimum 3 years experience as a mechanical designer or related position
-5+ years of experience as a mechanical designer or related position
