Job Description

Mechanical Engineer needed for well established company to do the following:
- Perform mechanical design and development of a multi-stage systems
- Brainstorm system designs, recommend design solutions, complete their detailed design, prototype, and test
- Manage CAD assemblies with all inside/outside influences
- Specify motion control components such as motors, encoders, linear actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other sensors
- Perform mechanical analysis such as plotting kinematic paths, calculating static and dynamic forces, and calculating tolerance stack-ups
- Work with external vendors to get parts fabricated and assembled
- Stay on top of technology advances in the field of robotics by attending seminars, joining external organizations, and going to trade shows.
- This position requires close collaboration with other mechanical engineers, product managers, test engineers, software engineers, vendors, and design consultants.

Seeking to hire a tenured, Mechanical Engineer/Sr/Project Manager to work closely with onsite Plant Manager/GM and Corporate COO who are expanding their current manufacturing facility in Brownsville with newly acquired manufacturing operations out of state. This position requires a flexible mechanical Engineer/Designer who is willing to work closely onsite and off with the GM, COO and product managers, and customers to fully understand their challenges, and then creatively apply and recommend a broad range of technologies to solve them in the most robust way. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanism design and has a passion for improvement, ability to start from concept ideation and take design all the way through to production.

Working hours: 8-5 onsite

- BS or MS in mechanical engineering
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design
- 3+ years' experience with mechanism design having dynamic loads - linkages, bearings, gear trains, and conveyors.
- Experience specifying motion control components such as motors, encoders, linear actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other sensors
- Solid CAD skills with the ability to parametrically manage large assemblies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with outside vendors and shops
- Experience with manufacturing industrial doors mechanisms, regulatory compliance, and design of high-reliability systems are all a plus. (Overhead, industrial, refrigerated/lighted, DOOR ASSEMBLIES and DOOR manufacturing.)
- Highly motivated, team player with a track record of technical leadership and technical collaboration
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Desire to be part of a fast-moving transition team working in a fast-paced, collaborative, environment with few rigid boundaries
