Job Description

Spherion Staffing, a national recruiting and staffing agency with a locally owned office in South Burlington, VT is seeking a Mechanical Installation Technician in the Northeastern region of the USA. Candidate must be available to travel extensively and to perform service installations, de-installations, upgrades and relocation of high value, complex equipment in hospital, university, federal building and other settings.

The Mechanical Installer's responsibilities include the coordination and installation, de-installation, relocation, and/or service upgrades of high-value, complex technical equipment in, but not limited to, Hospitals, Universities and Federal Buildings located throughout the country.

Essential Functions:

Coordinate and perform equipment installations, de-installations, relocations and service upgrades.
Travel frequently to sites across the country such as Hospitals, Universities and Federal Buildings.
Maintain customer relationships, deliver a safe and timely installation to the customer.
Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, policy, customer requirements and regulations.
Represent the organization and interact with the customer in a professional, courteous manner.
Assist with maintaining documentation in accordance with SOP and customer requirements.
Ensure quality and SOP compliance, and adherence to customer requirements and ISO-9001:2008.
Maintain safe work practices, work environment, and follow safety OSHA guidelines.
Assist with coordinating suppliers and help direct on-site equipment deliveries.

Working hours: varies by jobsite; includes extensive travel


Associates Degree in a relevant discipline desirable, not required.
Proven experience with manual installation of technical equipment.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals and instructions.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; verbal and written communication.
Mathematical skills; can add, subtract, multiply and divide in standard and metric units of measure.
Reasoning skills; able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Excellent customer service skills; punctual, courteous, professional image and conduct.
Computer skills; able to navigate and use Microsoft Office and the internet.


Ability to travel extensively.
Dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
Ability to work on a ladder.
Ability to lift up to 75lbs of cables or equipment.
Valid driver's license required.
