Job Description

Spherion is seeking an experienced medical office clerk. Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year experience in a high volume, professional medical office setting, answering phones and appropriately disseminating phone calls, greeting patients, verifying insurance, as well as other daily tasks .

The office clerk will receive patients at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. This role is responsible for a variety of standard medical office tasks.

Qualified candidates will present in a professional manner & represent the client company in a warm, welcoming, and professional way at all times.

The medical office clerk may be the first point of contact for callers and visitors to the client location. You will welcome guests, callers, and visitors while also coordinating front desk activities, including direction of phone calls and distribution of correspondence. Successful candidates will be pleasant and customer service oriented with a professional appearance.

- Answer multiple phones lines in an efficient manner, with appropriate greeting & timeliness
- Screen, direct, and forward calls in the correct manner
-Ensure front desk & patient waiting areas are clean, presentable, and stocked with all necessary materials
- Receive, sort, & distribute correspondence received in the office
- Maintain security measures by following visitor and safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (proper maintenance of visitor logs, badge process, etc)
- Verify insurance coverage & eligibility
- Communicate amounts due/co-pays etc
- Assist patients in completing all necessary forms
- Perform other basic clerical/administrative tasks

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

- Demonstrated experience as a receptionist, switchboard operator, front office coordinator, etc in a high volume medical office setting
- Proficiency with office systems (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, Docs, etc)
- Experienced in use of multi-line phone systems
- Advanced professional written and verbal communication skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Demonstrated knowledge of hardware (scanners, copiers, fax machines, laptop, printers, etc)
- Expert time management skills

High School

1-4 years

- High School Diploma required
- 1+ year medical office experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
