Job Summary

The New Product Development (NPD) Specialist is responsible for assisting in the execution of both product planning and product development. The position will provide assistance to the Product Management team with day-to-day reporting, analysis, and various projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Create CAD (Computer Aid Design) for new product ideas / features for appliances division brands/products
- Perform basic mechanical & feature design for new product ideas. Responsible for identifying areas of potential market research to stay current on consumer insight, trends and new products
- Coordinate the making of "proof of principle" prototypes for new products
- Evaluate market trends and suggest new product development or changes to the existing products based on research
- Coordinate & perform benchmark testing for key NPD projects
- Evaluate competitive units and make recommendations as appropriate
- Perform NPD Data gathering, analysis & review as needed

Working hours: Mon-Fri

Education and Experience Profile

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical preferred

Required Skills

--1-2 years of CAD experience required
--2-4 years solidworks experience preferred
--Strong interest in product development
--Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical design
--Basic understanding of manufacturing and injection molding
--Must be able to analyze complex data, situations and develop range of solutions
--Must be a decisive, action-orientated individual
--Proven ability to communicate cross-functionally
--Must have excellent written and presentation skills
--Proven ability to work effectively on teams
