Spherion Staffing, a national recruiting and staffing agency with a locally owned office in South Burlington, VT is seeking an Office Manager/Accountant OR a Part Time Accountant for our client in Burlington, VT. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, open to either a part time Accountant, 20 hours weekly OR Office Manager with Accounting experience, 35 hours. Experience in a Church or Non-Profit is helpful.

The part time Accountant manages all financial and accounting functions of the Church.

Summary for combined role of Office Manager/Accountant (20-35 hours weekly)
The Office Manager/Accountant manages all financial/accounting functions of the church as well as administrative, HR, communications, personnel coordination, technology and other duties as needed.

Financial/Accounting Duties:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Process donations and donation statements; respond to donor inquiries.
Produce monthly reports, offer budget projections, and closely track cash flow.
Facilitate and support annual budget process.
Allocate investment earnings/losses across investment funds.
Manage online giving and credit card payment system.

Office Management Duties:
Process semi-monthly payroll in ADP; ensure employment law compliance.
Process new hire paperwork, upkeep existing employee data and files.
Coordinate employee benefits, enrollment, pension, changes, terminations.
Manage security staff; set monthly schedules, troubleshoot staffing or other issues.
Collaborate with Building Manager; address building concerns, maintenance, vendor quotes.
Lead communications team, plan meetings to map out publications schedules, promotional topics.
Manage the website, blog posts, online sermons, governance page, staff updates.
Handle upcoming events logistics; help coordinate church calendar.

Working hours: 20 hrs for Accounting only/35 hrs for Office Mgr/Acctg

Accountant Requirements:
Accounts payable/receivable experience.
Experience with budget, cash tracking and financial reports.
Experience with handling giving/donations preferred.
Experience with investment allocation helpful.

Office Manager Requirements:
Experience with office administration and coordination.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Strong computer, software and technology skills.
