Job Description

Our reputable healthcare client has an immediate need for a data analyst to help complete a temporary project for the next 4-6 months.

Responsibilities:
This employee will be asked to analyze provider documentation for clinic and Emergency services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Verifies and/or codes diagnoses and minor procedures for clinic and emergency services utilizing guidelines as set forth in Coding Clinic for reporting of outpatient services and CPT Assistant for reporting of procedures

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Minimum: None
Preferred: CCS

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum: Basic knowledge and understanding of coding guidelines, as set forth in Coding clinic for ICD-9-CM and CPT Assistant for CPT/HCPCs. Knowledge of medical terminology and disease process. Computer and word processing skills including knowledge of Word and Excel.
Preferred: Knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, pharmacology and physiology.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 3 years of experience working in a health information management setting in an acute care, urgent care or physician based clinic. Successful completion of a degree in HIM/HIT and AHIMA registration as a Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Administrator (RHIA) will be considered equivalent to the required experience.
Preferred: Prior experience with coding and documentation analysis.


LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: At least one college level course in each of the following areas: ICD-9-CM and CPT coding, medical terminology, health information concepts, and introduction to computers.
Preferred: Degree or certificate in a coding related program.
