Job Description

Job Summary: Tends machine that performs packaging operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Tier I):
 Able to correctly assemble the dryer.
Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
Records temperature and airflow settings and product status (moisture, density and size when needed) every half hour on appropriate paperwork.
Collect all appropriate samples as needed.
Packages product appropriately when needed.
Insures that all packaging is labeled and recorded correctly.
Able to correctly shut machine down and disassemble for cleaning.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

1. Desired Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Language skills:
Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Able to write simple correspondence.
Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
3. Mathematical skills:
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Able to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Able to apply common sense understanding, to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

5. Computer skills (Tier I): Efficient at using ???Process Pro??? for packaging functions.

Understands and follows MSS sheets.
