Job Description

Package liquid and dry culture concentrates into various sized pouches and containers. Assemble, disassemble and operate processing and packaging equipment. Follow established procedures and run set points to achieve QC approved products with optimal yields at lowest costs

Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents.
Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management.

Responsibilities:
Assembles, disassembles and operates various processing and packaging machines. Operates video-jet, Label makers, pelletizer, centrifuges, ribbon blender, freezer, metal detector and cartoner machines.
Performs COP, CIP and SIP of equipment lines and holding tanks using standard recipes, cycles and chemicals. Performs piping connections for CIP/SIP of product lines. Will wash and autoclave packaging machine parts.
Package materials following process descriptions and job analysis information and uses product lot numbering system. Will package various cup sizes and weights and provide samples, QC samples and retains.
Records manufacturing lot numbers, QC inspection sheets, and weights, which requires the use of Mapics, Visibar, and pick lists.
Operates COROS interface for main screen operations, product transfers, and SIP/CIP water rinse of line circuits.
Washes and cleans equipment per the sanitation manual. Follows GMP program and rules.
Operates centrifuge according to specifications and under proper conditions.
Operates forklift.
Marginal Functions:
Assist other production operators as time/shift allows.

Working hours: 5:45 AM - 2:15 PM

Skills:
Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel. Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.
The physical demands of this position include the ability to walk and stand on a regular basis. The ability to reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull and manipulate is frequently required. Must occasionally lift product from a variety of positions to 50 pounds and to 25 pounds regularly. Hearing, speaking, vision, reading and writing are required to perform this job.
The job is performed inside. The temperature is controlled in the packaging and carton rooms. There is exposure to the -40 freezer. Refrigerator outfits are provided. There is exposure to vapors, fumes, and chemical agents. Operators wear protective clothing to protect against contamination when packaging and for safety purposes. There is close proximity to moving objects. The floor surface is concrete and is occasionally wet.

Education:
No Degree Required

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
No experience required. Six months to one year experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable.
