Job Description

This position is a direct hire role for a growing company in Dayton, NJ.

The parts counter person's main duties are to perform a variety of customer service, technician support, and stocking duties related to the receiving, sale and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealerships parts and service department. Ongoing responsibility for assisting with the counter parts sales and customer service responsibilities within the service department.

Responsibilities:
*Sells products and/or services to repair the problem and meet the customer's needs.
*Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledge all customers he/she comes in contact with.
*Assist in keeping parts department clean and orderly.
*Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur.
*Provide service technicians with parts as required.
*Assist with Parts Manager in merchandising displays.
*Processes cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as require.
*Attends training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description.
*Uses dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently.
*Track parts usage to eliminate over stocking and eliminate stale inventory.
*Maintains appropriate communication within and between managers, technicians, and parts department.
*Create relationships with customers and vendors through daily encounters.
*Handles all day to day operations of ordering parts and insuring accessibility of parts for the Technician Department.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
*Background in automotive is preferred
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
*The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and dirty.
*Requires the use of both hands.
*Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift in excess of 80lbs. of material.
*Requires ability to climb ladders and operate a fork lift.
*Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and heavy machinery.
*Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards.
*Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
1-4 years
