Job Description

The Patient Account Representative (PAR) maximizes cash collections while minimizing uncollected accounts. The PAR interfaces with internal revenue cycle departments and external payer organizations including health information management, case Management, review organizations, access/registration areas, and clinical departments to achieve clean claim submissions.

Our candidate will be responsible to make sure all accounts are processed in an efficient and expeditious manner while assuring the integrity of each patient account. Other duties include identifying and resolving missing or duplicate charges or incorrect patient status. Ideal candidate must be able to determine root causes and trends escalating to management for workflow improvement. You will also be responsible for providing daily resolution of overlapping claims, including identification of any system or editing issues. Candidate will also review, analyze and resolve claim edits to determine resolution, including adjusting claims, submitting late charges or merging claims. This position also requires the proper processing of all print and mail paper claims that are not eligible for electronic remittance and require an attachment. Attention to detail in this position is extremely important.

Working hours: 8:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Qualified candidates must have the ability to assess relevant information,make appropriate decisions, and recognize conflict resolution for upper management. Employee must have great interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude, with the ability to apply diplomacy and flexibility with patients and work associates. Ideal candidate must also have the ability to communicate orally and through written correspondence with patients and third-party payers. Knowledge of collection procedures and basic medical terminology is needed.


4-7 years

To qualify for this position candidate must be Bilingual in Spanish and English. Ideal candidate will have advanced use of MS Word, Excel,Outlook and 35 wpm keyboarding/typing speed. We are looking for a candidate with 3 years of office or patient access experience, with at least 1 of those years working in a healthcare environment (such as doctor's office, patient registration, medical billing or scheduling) and 5 years in a hospital environment with extensive knowledge of all billing and/or registration systems, including insurance carriers, contracts, and types of medical coverage.
