Job Description

Spherion Staffing is looking for a Payroll Assistant to work under the direction of the payroll manager for a local Fargo client, to ensure effective, timely, and accurate completion of payroll processes and procedures. The ideal candidate should enjoy a fast-paced work environment, meeting short & long term deadlines, while still maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Qualified applicants MUST have 2 years of college and 1-2 years of direct payroll, bookkeeping experience.

Pay: $17-19/Hour DOE
Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm

- Assist with the timely processing and coding of time cards to ensure accuracy
- Assist in completion of employment verification
- Assist in verification of unemployment hours
- Assist with new hire reporting
- Assist in processing and distributing of payroll checks
- Must maintain confidentiality of all employee payroll information
- Must work well in a team environment
- Provide administrative clerical support to the payroll manager
- Perform other department related duties as directed, or operationally necessary

-2 years of college and 1-2 years of direct payroll, bookkeeping or office experience
-Must have good working knowledge of MS Word/Excel/Outlook
-Proficiency testing required in Microsoft Word, Ten Key, and Alpha Numeric
