Job Description

Position provides a monthly salary for up to a 3-month time period that Employer will guarantee at least Federal minimum wage. After their probationary period, they will make about $26,000/year plus commissions.
This is a training/probationary period after which the employee will be on a straight commission with an established route that the employee is encouraged to grow. Days and hours are variable between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and occasionally at night. Work will be performed from N. Palm Beach County to Indian River County.

Pest Control is a Realistic occupation. Realistic occupations frequently involve work activities that include practical, hands-on problems and solutions. They often deal with plants, animals, and real-world materials like wood, tools, and machinery. Many of the occupations require working outside, and do not involve a lot of paperwork or working closely with others.

Note: The following is a list of sample tasks typically performed by Pest Control Workers. Employees in this occupation will not necessarily perform all the tasks listed.
1. Spray or dust chemical solutions, or powders on exterior areas, in rooms, furnishings or wood, and near preserves, waterways, marshlands, ditches, and catch-basins. Use pesticides on recreational, commercial, and homeowner land and property
2. Use pesticides on any area open to the general public at the following establishments: educational institutions, health care facilities, day-care facilities, convalescent facilities.
3. Use pesticides where open food is stored, processed or sold.
4. Set mechanical traps and place poisonous bait in bait stations, attics, crawl spaces, and other interior locations.
5. Inspect premises to identify infestation source and method of entry to property, and access to infested locations.
6. Drill openings in building or surrounding concrete, access infested areas, insert nozzle, and inject pesticide to treat soil.
7. Measure and treat at construction sites for pre-construction soil treatments for termite prevention.
8. Measure and drill, trench and treat at construction sites for post-construction soil treatments for termite control and prevention.
9. Study preliminary reports and diagrams of infested area and determine treatment type required to eliminate and prevent recurrence of infestation.
10. Direct and/or assist other workers in treatment and extermination processes to eliminate and control rodents, insects, and weeds.
11. Ability to perform attic/crawlspace crawls
12. Climbing on ladders
