Job Description

Our client headquartered in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Production Manager for their manufacturing facility in Petersburg, VA. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager is responsible for managing all warehouse & distribution center activities in ultimate support of customer order fulfillment. The Plant Manager works to ensure the receipt, coordination and safety of goods coming through the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and coordinates activities of Shipping, Manufacturing, Inventory Management and Receiving personnel engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment.
- Develops and implements best practices for increased labor productivity.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Drives inventory control efforts to maintain acceptable and accurate levels of inventory, both to fulfill customer orders as well as raw materials for production.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Working hours: Monday - Friday

--Bachelor's Degree
--Minimum 3 - 5 years experience as a Warehouse/Factory Manager in a high-volume distribution center with a proven track record of implementing best practices in labor efficiency.
--Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
--Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
--Ability to work effectively with tight timelines
--Excellent problem solving skills
--Clear sense of ownership and accountability
--Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across functions
