The Plant Operation Manager position will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products within cost, quality, and schedule specifications. In particular, this position focuses on improving on-time shipment performance and production quality and efficiency. Scope of accountability includes determining the best way to develop and meet the production schedule, deciding which machines to use and the sequence of production, and reorganizing production processes. This position will work closely with managers and supervisors of other departments. Together, they plan and carry out the company's goals and policies. For example, the Production Manager may work with purchasing to be sure that material inventories are available to prevent delays in the production. The Production Manager is expected to stay up-to-date on developments in manufacturing management, researching new ways to operate more efficiently, at lower cost, and with increasing quality control.

MUST have welding experience!

Developing and maintaining the production schedule with the General Manager.
Overseeing the production schedule on a daily basis through all shifts and work areas.
Managing the fabrication shop to meet on-time performance objectives.
Overseeing fabrication shop to meet quality and safety objectives.
Coordinate productivity and quality programs to build a culture of continuous improvement throughout the shop.
Provide back-up support to the Shop Foreman with customer/order related questions or issues.
Developing and adhering to an annual expense budget for the Fabrication Division
Maintain collaborative communication with all other employees in the organization.
Oversee maintenance and repair of the shop building and utilities as well as all fabrication equipment in the shop.
Hires, trains, evaluates, and discharges staff with Human Resources. Resolves personnel grievances with Human Resources.
Generally work a set schedule of 40 hours. However, they may be called at any hour to deal with emergencies.
Random rotation of shifts to evaluate team process and quality of work performed by reports. Occasionally work night shifts when supervisors are absent.
This is a salaried, exempt position.

Production and Processing: Knowledge of how products are made and supplied.
Administration and Management: Knowledge of managing the operations of a business, company, or group.
Mathematics: Knowledge of the rules and uses of numbers. Areas of knowledge include arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics.
Mechanical: Knowledge of designing, using, and repairing machines and tools.
Education and Training: Knowledge of teaching and the methods involved in learning and instruction.
Personnel and Human Resources: Knowledge of the department that is in charge of the relationship between a company and its employees. In particular, includes knowledge of the activities performed by the department
English Language: Knowledge of the meaning, spelling, and use of the English language.
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of providing special services to customers based on their needs.
Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of how to build machines, buildings, and other things. Also includes knowledge of how to use computers, machines, and tools to do work more usefully.
Design: Knowledge of making and using plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
