Job Description

Job Summary:
This position will focus on providing project controls function on all assigned projects, consisting of:
1) Project cost management: Provide cost monitoring, reporting and control services during the execution phase of projects.
2) Project schedule management: Schedule monitoring, reporting and control services during the execution phase of projects.

Job Responsibilities:
--During project development, help ensure the facilitation of cost control during project execution and meets accounting requirements for asset creation.
--Provide full project cost management
--Provide guidance to associates for coding invoices against appropriate work orders and project task codes and provide support for reviewing invoices against vendor supplied backup information.
--Prepare expenditure profile, work force histograms, and comparative capital cost estimates for projects.
--Provide estimating support to other department's cost management for internal cost controls
--Develop templates, examples and checklists to assist the project managers to implement correct processes
--Prepare project status with variance analysis for senior management and project management.

Working hours: 8:00am-5:00pm

--Four Year Degree or combination of education and experience.
--Minimum of 3-5 years of project controls or project management experience is required.
--Experience in project controls, cost or construction management preferably
--Ability to take responsibility for varied assignments requiring a broad understanding of processes and procedures and/or have a specialized knowledge of one area as well as knowledge of interrelated effects of the work upon other areas of the business.
--Ability to work in a team environment.
--Ability to analyze data effectively
--Experience with Oracle Financials (Work Orders and Project Accounting modules) and mark view invoicing is considered an asset.
--Proficient with using tools in the Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
--Good communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
--Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload, bring issues forward and develop working relationships at all levels of the organization.
--Registration in a professional society related to their post-secondary education is considered an asset.
--Project management professional designation is considered an asset.
