Job Description

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing the technical project leadership on new rugged computing product development efforts by planning, organizing and controlling all technical elements of the project. Also identifies project responsibilities by determining the phase and elements of the project. He or she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and small projects and have excellent written and oral communication skills. In addition he or she will assist Engineering in the transfer of the new products into qualification, manufacturing, and the establishment of tests and test methods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Direct product design and support the Analog, Digital, Mechanical, Software, and Regulatory engineering for military and or aviation applications for rugged environments.
Design for compliance with military, aviation, and company specifications/standards such as MIL-STD 810, MIL-STD 461, and DO-160 with emphasis on shock, vibration, wide temperature extremes and EMI/RFI concerns.
Interface with systems and software engineers to specify and evaluate interface between hardware and software including device drivers, UEFI/BIOS, and ACPI interfaces for the Intel x86 and ARM architecture.
Direct detailed circuit design and interfaces to flat panel displays, storage devices, and Smart Power subsystems and other OEM components.
Direct architectural design for Intel x86 and ARM based processor solutions.
Drive subcontractor solutions, schedules, and deliverables to align with project goals.
Prepare and manage design specifications, BOM, budgets, schedules, SOW, and internal deliverables.
Prepare complete documentation packages including schematics, assembly drawings, and BOM?s.
Perform other duties as may be required.

Skills:
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 10 years of experience in an engineering detailed design environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Experience with Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems
Ability to read and understand schematics and mechanical drawings.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks; excellent time management skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with project team and external vendors and be able to accurately document, report and present.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
A drive for results in a teambuilding environment
No travel restrictions

Preferred Education & Experience:
Experience in aerospace and military environment
Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems development
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Thorough knowledge of manufacturing.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
