Job Description

The QA Technician is a member if the Quality Assurance department at Huntsville Factory. Primarily this position performs failure analysis on electronic components and assemblies, compiles and evaluates data to determine appropriate actions to ensure the quality and reliability of products, and conducts cross-functional audits within the entire organization, reports findings and recommends process improvements.

Responsible for performing root cause analysis to the component level on a wide variety of electronic assemblies.
Prepare formal failure analysis reports, suitable for distribution to management, customers and suppliers as required.
Coordinates the return of nonconforming material from customers and/or to suppliers.
Performs various quality audits, documents and communicates results.
Works with suppliers and customers to resolve problems as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Interfaces with production, process engineering, materials, and purchasing departments to identify and resolve issues.
Coordinate calibration of test and measurement devices with outside sources and maintains calibration records.
Assist in preparing PPAP packages including Control plans, PFMEA???s, Flow Charts, Dimensional Reports, and other statistical data packages.
Prepare or modify Quality Assurance work instructions and Quality Alert Bulletins.
Prepare or modify QMS procedures.
Research and generate material declarations (RoHs, Reach, Conflict Minerals, and IMDS).
Generate MicroVu programs for incoming inspection and final product dimensional verification.
Performs visual/mechanical inspection of products or components to ensure compliance with specifications and IPC standards.
All other duties as assigned by management

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook are required.


1-4 years

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience using debug and repair tools such as soldering/de-soldering equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Experience using Automotive Core Tools.
Experience working in an ISO/IATF environment.
IPC-A-610 or JSTD-001 Certification preferred.
