Job Description

Spherion is searching for a growing Food a Quality Assurance which oversee the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed.

Communicate with customers, management and sales on quality issues to assure the plant can comply with customer and/or company specifications.
Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with production supervision and USDA personnel.
Train and supervise QA Technicians on their respective shift.
Ensure the safety and motivation for all their team member
Develop and conduct a variety of tests on inbound materials from vendors and outbound products for shipping
Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase
Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken
Educate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality
Create process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with departmental managers

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Must possess excellent communication skills
Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectations
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Keen attention to detail
Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
Documentation and reporting skills
Teamwork and collaboration
Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time

High School

1-4 years

HSD, GED or Associates Degree in Manufacturing or BA programs.
Previous experience in production or manufacturing.
Experience in business administration may be advantageous
Attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.
1-3 Years of experience in Quality processes
