Spherion Staffing, a national recruiting and staffing agency with a locally owned office in South Burlington, VT is seeking a Quality Control Coordinator in Georgia, Vermont. This is a full time, direct-hire opportunity! The ideal candidate will have proven experience with production quality control, preferably within the food or drug industry.

The Quality Control Coordinator position is responsible for implementing, overseeing, and coordinating all aspects of Quality Control and compliance.

Essential Functions:

Ensure specifications size, weight, chemical composition, and components.
Complete sanitary checks and line clearance procedures for production.
Investigate, monitor, and reports on quality of product issues and client complaints.
Ensure all Certificates of Analyses for materials are accounted for.
Retain Safety Data Sheets for raw materials; ensure FDA compliance.
Maintain SOPs and ensure they are fully implemented, manage changes/approvals.
Monitor documentation for incoming ingredients and finished products to ensure compliance. Flag defects and take corrective action.
Maintain and draft specifications for ingredients and finished products.
Take samples for transmission to external labs.
Receive test results from labs; compile Certificates of Analysis.
Ensure regulatory requirements have been met for finished products, and that a file containing relevant documents is available if required for FDA inspection.
Maintain Master Manufacturing Records for all finished products to assure compliance.
Perform Quality examinations of incoming raw materials and components to confirm their identity, verifying components-reject/accept accordingly.
Review invoices from all Lab purchase orders and complete transactions in system.
Maintain database of retained samples, raw materials, and finished products.

Working hours: Monday through Friday, days


Associate's Degree in a science discipline.
1-2 years in QC/QA, food industry not required, but preferred.
Knowledge of chemistry and biology is helpful.
Professional interpersonal skills; ability to train and coach.
Ability to analyze, interpret and complete controlled documents
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft office, including Excel.
High level of attention to detail.
