Job Description

Summary/Objective:
The Quality Control Technician is to perform quality checks, inspection and tests parts for quality throughout the process in a manufacturing setting. This role will properly document and make recommendations when necessary for improvements to the process for the highest quality parts.

Essential Functions:
Level In Training
- Learning the following:
o How to complete applicable paperwork for area of work.
o Understand and follow applicable procedures for the area of work.
o Basics of how to utilize lab measurement equipment surfcom tester, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gage, bore gage, etc
o Basic 5S requirements ie. Cleaning and organization skills of the area.
o Process of inspection checks.
o Conduct process audits at the machine
o Ability to read blue prints
o Understand how to handle Receive Inspection for all raw materials, delivery and pass through parts
o Understand how to perform tool change and set up inspections.
o Ability to input data into computer software such as Word, Excel, Power Point, for Capability Study information, etc.
o Perform basic CMM checks
o Understand basic APQP process documentation
- Effectively communicate across all departments
- Possess attention to detail
- Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:
Ability to perform all previous level requirements in addition to the following items:
o Complete all necessary paperwork for area of work
o Complete working knowledge of how to utilize lab measurement equipment surfcom tester, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gage, bore gage, etc
o Complete process inspection checks
o Working knowledge of 5S requirements and assist in Kaizen activities
o Perform Receiving Inspection for all raw materials, delivery and pass through parts
o Perform tool change and set up inspections
o Complete APQP process documentation
o Able to perform CMM checks and trouble shoot with subleaders as necessary
o Ability to perform 1st piece inspection requirements for all parts manufactured at MPI.
o Understand the process for basic gage calibration
o Ability to decipher and develop work instructions as needed
- Effectively communicate across all departments
- Other duties as assigned

Working hours: 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM

Willingness to maintain flexibility in work assignment
Willingness to work overtime when needed
Team work oriented - commitment level
Ability to maintain all required work instructions / documents
Ability to adhere to all company rules
--Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
? High School diploma or equivalent
? Minimum of six months of quality experience in a manufacturing setting
? Strong desire to maintain plant 5S
