Job Description

Lead and facilitate the implementation of global and site specific quality initiatives and their continual improvement.  Responsible for day-to-day site quality engineering activities including material disposition, internal/external concern management.  APQP/FMEA/PPAP activities, metrology management ect.  Lead/coach and facility problem solving, analysis of data, and continual improvement activities.

·         Drive health, safety, and environmental initiatives in accordance with GKN Sinter Metals methodology while leading by example. ·         Help to maintain compliance with the ISO 14001 and TS 16949 standards, company policies, safety rules, and 5S housekeeping standards.

·         Engineering
·         Develop and execute scrap and non-standard sort reduction action plans
·         Develop standard work and operational instructions for operators
·         Provide technical support to the manufacturing team and help to solve production problems
·         Update cost sheets and part routers for process changes
·         Assist Product Engineering in launching new products
·         Enter and manager the Engineering Change Request for their process changes
·         Write capital expenditure applications and define equipment requirements for newly awarded business
·         Work with manufacturing to implement new and improved methods for improved quality, cost, delivery, and safety
·         Work with equipment manufactures to implement new and improved methods for improved quality, cost, delivery, and safety.  
 ·         Quality
 ·         Drive to reduce DMR’s and customer rejections.
 ·         Have periodic control plan and PFMEA
 ·         Set special characteristics and track their corresponding capabilities.

Qualification

·         Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Science
·         Minimum three (3) years of experience as a powder metal process or manufacturing engineering with powder metallurgy and statistical process control knowledge
·         Must possess leadership and problem solving skills and work well in a team based environment along with management system auditing and problem solving skills and experience in customer concern management
·         Proficient in quality system development, automotive quality systems/technical specification is necessary.
