Job Description

Quality Tech Assistants needed for thriving and very fast-paced production facility in Lake County Florida.

2 shifts currently available:
3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
11 p.m. - 7 a.m.

$10.20 - $12.20 per hour DOE

Performing on floor routine audits (tours), including code checks to ensure accuracy.
Pull required samples from the line at required intervals and store for microbiology and retention as required.
Manage refrigerator and freezer retention samples.
Enter data onto SAP and other computer programs as required.
File batch sheets, COAs and other quality paperwork.
Assist in maintaining the QA hold and re-mill logs, including process initiation.
Assist QA technicians in the cleaning and organization of the lab and all applicable areas.
Monitor all aspects of production for compliance to HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and SOPs.
Inform the QA Manager and/or QA Supervisor of any out-of-specification situations or negative trends.
Comply with Co-Pack requirements.
Follows instructions and responds to management or lead direction.
Shift flexibility a must.
Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
Experience in QA food manufacturing, Associate's degree (AA) and or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Displays good interpersonal skills.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software (Office Excel) and word processing software (Office Word) and database software (i.e., SPC, SAP, etc.).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
HACCP Certification desirable.

The employee is also frequently required to taste and smell.
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions extreme cold, and frequent changes in temperature from going in and out of the freezers.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and hearing protection is required in all production areas of the facility.
