Job Description
A Clare County manufacturer is seeking a Quality Technician to join their team! This is a full-time, temp-hire opportunity (goal is long-term placement) and hours will vary greatly depending on coverage needs, so interested candidates MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ANY SHIFT. A minimum of 1 year experience in the performance and theories of gage calibration and measurement analysis is required. The employee must be able to keep pace with gage tracking and decontamination testing.
Responsibilities:
- Follow directives from the Quality Assurance Manager to meet customer quality standards.
- Coordinates quality assurance requirements and work tasks with Quality Assurance Manager.
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming goods in accordance with procedures.
- Identify and handle non-conforming products; identify visual defects and make disposition on inspected material.
- Perform layout of products utilizing the coordinate measurement machine (CMM), optical comparator, and various other measurement equipment and/or tools determining conformance to quality requirements.
- Plans, performs, and documents gage calibrations at prescribed intervals.
- Coordinate quality activities with production personnel including the General Manager, Supervision, Engineering, Technical Support Team personnel and operators.
- Execute training activities under direction of the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Perform and document contamination testing of products in accordance with documented procedures.
- Aide in the development of process flow charts, control plans and PFMEA?s. (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
- Preparation and documentation of prototype products to customer expectations.
- Preparation and documentation of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities in accordance with customer requirements.
- Write procedures, work instructions and inspection sheets in accordance with the QMS (Quality Management System)
- Aide in the control of all documentation in accordance with the QMS (Quality Management System).
- Gather and collect data from multiple sub-sets of any product needed for capability studies along with continuous monitoring of applicable SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts.
- Promote quality achievements and performance improvements.
- Actively participates in Five S activities. (5S, a system of continual improvement ? visual order, organization, cleanliness & standardization.)
- Participates in employee training programs and other company meetings as required.
- May be asked to participate on the Emergency Response Team, Safety Committee, Environmental Management Team, Internal Auditor or other groups to assist in the continual improvement of the company.
- Adhere to company policies, rules and procedures.
- Must be able to travel with possible overnight stays. Travel outside the continental United States may be required.

Qualifications:
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT AS HOURS WILL FLUCTUATE BASED ON COVERAGE NEED.
- High School Diploma or GED plus one year of experience and/or education in the performance and theories of gage calibration and measurement analysis.
- Must be willing and able to participate in additional training or educational programs as related to job duties as required by the company (must establish a passing grade or equivalent).
