Job Description

Our client, a local Construction Contracting company has an opening for a Safety/Risk Manager. This position will manage and oversee company safety programs, provide safety training for employees, manage worker's compensation insurance processes, and ensure that the company is in compliance with required Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety and health standards.

Qualified candidates should have a two-year degree with major coursework in construction engineering, construction management, occupational safety, industrial engineering or environmental engineering.

Pay $50-60k/year DOE

- Develop, implement, and enforce all safety related policies, procedures, programs, and standards
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct all safety training, classes, and programs
- Coordinate "right-to-know" programs regarding hazardous chemicals and other substances
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the company Safety Manual with necessary revisions and replaces outdated documents with the revisions in all company Safety Manuals
- Investigate all incidents, causes of accidents or injuries to develop solutions to minimize or prevent recurrence and generates proper reports
- Manage company injury and incident claims
- Implement a standard of measurement for tracking and reporting on safety performance issues such as accidents, near misses, and lost time events
- Establish and maintain all required job safety records
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of any changes regarding OSHA/Safety regulations and disseminates the information to jobsite supervision and training of employees if required
- Serves as Chairperson on the Safety Committee, overseeing all committee meetings and recommendations
- Review contract safety requirements to ensure that company standards meet or exceed the project contract requirements
- Attend various training and certification workshops, courses, and seminars as needed or required

--A two-year degree with major coursework in construction engineering, construction management, occupational safety, industrial engineering, environmental engineering
--Basic knowledge of construction operations, materials, and methods
--Knowledge of principles, and practices of construction, engineering, construction insurance, safety, and risk management
--Excellent computer skills
--Demonstrate strong leadership and motivational skills
--Possess professional written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
--OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Safety Training Certification
