Job Description

Family owned and operated Charleston Events & Catering company looking for a Sales Professional/Event Producer to join their team. A high-energy individual with the gift of gab, a can-do attitude and the ability to see the glass half full. Ideal candidates will pride themselves on their professionalism & communication skills, and should be outgoing, personable, and detail-oriented. Past positions should involve working with people; areas could include sales, customer service, event management, hospitality, and retail.
Must be a self-starter that also works well within a team setting. Responsiveness is key. Candidate requires a polished and professional demeanor and presentation, great attention to detail and the ability to react very quickly in a very fast paced and dynamic environment. This person will be responsible for working with clients through the entire planning process, from the first call through the post-event thank you letter and needs to be a strong sales closer with a proven track record.
Our industry is unique in that we are working when others are partying/playing. Nights and weekends are when we bring events to life. We do not operate on the "normal" 9 to 5 timeline, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Responsibilities:
*Must consistently develop leads and effectively turn those leads into signed contracts.
*Works closely with in-house Offsite Operations and Culinary teams for coordination and execution of events.
*Communicates directly with client (in person, phone & e-mail) from initial contact to event execution, including continuous follow ups to track sales and planning (menu, layout, service & d??cor) progress.
*Resolves client requests and questions, frequently requiring analysis of situation to determine best use of resources.
*Sets up new accounts, maintains records, prepares reports and performs work processing assignments and related clerical duties.
*Leads client tastings with participation from Executive Chef and culinary team.
*Conducts site visits with clients and vendors. Most locations are within two hours of the office.
*Coordinates rental and/or equipment orders and revisions for associated event needs.

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Skills:
*Multi-task and ability to work within multiple tasks daily and ability to problem solve;
*Effective communication - verbal and written to all teams;
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel and Outlook), computer savvy
*Motivated with a positive attitude;
*Willingness to learn new skills and work within a team environment.
*Self-motivated and Independent;
*Flexibility to work a varying schedule;
*Must have a valid driver's license and pass all security and background checks.
*Bonus Skills: Knowledge of Caterease Software. Proficiency in design software. Prior experience with off-premise catering and/or the hospitality industry is a plus.

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
*1 - 4 years experience in the catering/sales/hospitality industry..
* College degree required.
