Job Description

This position is responsible for acquiring new customers and interfacing with existing customers to develop and maintain positive customer relations. Assist Customer Service Representatives with processing orders, preparing correspondence, and handling customer inquiries while providing seamless service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
In addition, supporting the cost estimator role by compiling data from all areas of the business to create standard routings and bills of material necessary to produce accurate quotes and work orders. Interface directly with prospective and current customers from the initial request for a quote through the delivery of the product to ensure high customer satisfaction.


  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes for metal fabrication.
  • Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read blueprints, create bills of material and routing.
  •  Analytical problem solving, conceptual thinking, and math skills.
  •  Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
  •  Participate in a culture of mutual trust and respect, with teamwork and accountability to each other and to organization goals.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


  • Communicate directly with prospective and existing customers. Gather details and prints, compile inputs to estimate all production costs according to specification and prepare quotes.
  • Make recommendations to reduce cost, improve delivery and quality.
  • Provide feedback on the equipment and tools needed for new RFQs.
  • Evaluate past job performance and provide if the job is not meeting profit targets.


1-4 years


--Develop, maintain and update item master, routings and bills of material.
--Maintain Revision Control for customer supplied prints.
--Meets with customers to facilitate sales growth, strengthen relationships and negotiate and close deals. Some travel required.
--Recommend product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy to maximize long-term market share and profitability.
--Process orders and other requests.
--Record details of inquiries, comments, complaints, and actions taken.
--Manage customer account records.
--Establish and maintain positive internal and external customer relationships.
--Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities.
--Interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
--Effective listening and communication skills.
--Flexible, ability to accept change.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, plus 2-4 years of experience working with costs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP software and SolidWorks a plus.
  • 3 years of sales or customer service experience, manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Agricultural or Landscaping background helpful.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
