Job Description

The sanitation technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the factory and its equipment for the production lines. In addition, they assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the general production areas.
The sanitation technician spends a majority of their 8 hour day cleaning the factory and its equipment. The work day is spent in a factory which ranges in temperature from 70-110 degrees. There are many physical demands and the sanitation technician is required to lift and squat up to 50 pounds. The sanitation technician must also bend and stretch to reach equipment for proper cleaning. Stress can range from moderate to high depending on the staffing, machine or ordering conditions.

All shifts are Tuesday-Sunday, with either Mon/Tues, or Tues/Wed off. All weekends will be required. ($1.00 pay differential for working weekends)

Day Shift is 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM - $14.00

Swing Shift is 3:00 PM to 11:00 pm - $14.00

Grave Shift 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM - $14.40

Responsibilities:
? Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment (ovens, coolers)
? Clean and sanitize baking equipment including: dough/frosting bins, dies, and trays
? Operate floor scrubber to clean concrete flooring
? Sweep and mop work areas
? Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, lunchroom, offices, conference room and the research and development lab
? Discard all corrugate card board, un-edible food and other packing material
? Clean and sanitize any bodily fluid spills following established Bloodborne Pathogen Training
? Clean and sanitize all types of drains
? Management of water on floors
? Clean the exterior portion of premises
? Snow and ice removal on exterior portion of the plant
? Responsible for food safety , food defense and food quality.
? Know how to operate a trash compactor and read a weight scale.
? Know how to remove and clean production line operating equipment and to assemble said equipment.
? Know how to handle and use chemicals, chemical color coding system and chemical handling
? Know how to read material safety data sheets in English (MSDS)

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Skills:
--Be able to up to lift 50 lbs.
--Be able to push 50-75 lbs; more than 50lbs will require two people
--Able to work on feet for the entire shift
--Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, bending, pulling, walking, climbing on machinery and/or tooling
--Work in confined spaces, ovens and silos. (Must be entered into through a small opening. It is tight, cramped and completely enclosed. It has the potential to engulf an entrant. It can be vertical or horizontal. People who have Claustrophobia, heart conditions, epilepsy, seizures, etc. cannot work in a Confined Space

Experience:
0-1 years

Qualifications:
? 1 year minimum experience in manufacturing and/or sanitation environment preferred.
? Good verbal and written communication skills
? Knowledge of Microsoft applications (excel, word, power point)
- Possess or ability to get food handlers permit before starting.
