Job Description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead development of commodity segment strategies
- Strategic Global Sourcing
- Extensive knowledge in supply chain management, development, and procurement processes and procedures within the automotive industry.
- Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best supplier terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budge and schedule requirements
- Develop, maintain, and publish appropriate documentation as required by the applicable purchasing procedures.
- Support Project Development Team's for regional/global business pursuits programs
- Work with and lead PDT's and cross functional teams in managing the purchasing function for New Model programs
- Interface with all other departments on material status and production planning issues.
- Negotiate price, delivery, quality levels, intellectual property rights, payment terms and other aspects with suppliers
- Develops new supply sources and optimizes current supply base by evaluating an implementing improvement measures
- Evaluate research findings and make independent decisions on procurement matters
- Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period.
- Ensures budget rules are followed.
- Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers
- Develop, maintain, and publish appropriate documentation as required by the applicable purchasing procedures.
- Lead development of a program of Supplier Performance Evaluations to maximize the value that can be achieved throughout the supplier relationship cycle
- Other duties as assigned.

Working hours: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Skills, Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferably in a business related area.
- Eight to ten years of procurement experience preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures
- Highly proficient with operating systems software such as SAP. Able to build detailed project schedules.
- Think forward, anticipate issues and plan for contingencies.
- Check the detail for getting quality right.
- Build awareness of responsibility to the bigger team beyond immediate work tasks and colleagues.
- Ability to work overtime as need and required.
- Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under production and time pressures.
- Ability to follow directives and policies of the Company.
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
- Solid decision making skills
- Ability travel internationally.
