Service Shop Manager

Job Description

Spherion Staffing is looking for an experienced Service Shop Manager to oversee a team of 3 Service Technicians in matters pertaining to shop and safety regulations and care of equipment. Qualified applicants must have a degree in Mechanics and 1+ year of experience in both management and safety training.

Direct Hire Opportunity
Salary $50-65k/year DOE

Responsibilities:

- Train and instruct shop personnel, drivers and independent contracts regarding shop regulations, infraction of rules and safety in the shop
- Ensure operation of tractor/trailer and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance
- Work with drivers to ensure the equipment is safe by doing annual inspections and meets DOT standards
- Oversee all work and inspects all finished work
- Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking and maintaining stock
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
- Routine yard clean-up
- All on call every other weekend
