Job Description

We are partnering with Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties for this search for an experienced Special Events Coordinator. This position promotes Make-A-Wish Tri-counties across the region, engages volunteers and oversees all third-party events. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting 2-3 annual large fundraising events. While this position is located at the Headquarters in Camarillo, some activities are required in both the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo locations.

Responsibilities:
-Manages all aspects of executing signature events; Night for Wishes, Big Wish Gala, Appreciation events and other organizational events. In addition, overseeing any related event volunteer committees
-Oversees all aspects of third-party events, including Kids For Wish Kids, including managing the discovery and approval process, executing agreements and securing required volunteers as needed
-Collaborates with staff and volunteers to develop any relevant collateral materials and deploy marketing strategies for events as needed
-Manages and Markets all National Corporate Sponsors and their local campaigns/events
-Understands and utilizes the features of internal customer relationship databases in providing a moves management approach to capturing and maintaining all event and donor information(examples: Raiser's Edge and Team Raiser)
-As a member of the Development Team, achieving annual goals by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors
-Manages a small portfolio of donors (individual, event and corporate)
-Supports development and delivery of Donor/Volunteer communications
-Tracks prospect/donor moves appropriately in Raiser's Edge by notating actions, communication notes, proposals, etc.
-Identifies, records and communicate to leadership potential opportunities and relationships that can increase organizational fundraising
-Adheres to all Make-A-Wish America performance standards and Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties internal controls, policies and procedures

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
-Excellent data-entry/customer relationship database experience required; Raiser's Edge experience preferred
-Must be self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and excel in problem-solving skills
-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision
-Ability to manage sensitive and highly confidential information
-Excellent communication and customer service skills with the capacity to interact with diverse groups and work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
-Ability to connect with people and engage others in the mission of the organization
-Minimum three years comprehensive staff or volunteer management experience
-Proven track record of sales/fundraising and business marketing experience required
-Marketing development and implementation experience preferred
-Must possess excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
-Excellent computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years event management experience and a proven track record of sales/fundraising and business marketing experience.
