The Staffing Specialist  reports directly to the Operations Manager. 
 Staffing Specialists are responsible for recruiting, interviewing, testing and screening applicants for assignments with company clients.   Staffing Specialists are also required to perform and/or handle all aspects of office related tasks including internal sales, communication with clients, payroll processing, accounts receivable, workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation.   Staffing Specialists must maintain a professional demeanor including top-notch customer service skills at all times.


Human Resource background with knowledge of employment policies.
Highly proficient in Word and Excel programs
Typing speed of 50 wpm or higher

Customer Service experience


- Professionally handle incoming telephone calls and schedule appropriate appointments.
- Interview, test, and evaluate applicants for employment consideration.
- Conduct reference checks and other pre-employment requirements  on all qualified applicants.
- Take client orders over telephone.  Call clients to follow-up on orders or gain additional orders.
- Make daily/weekly sales calls to develop business with existing or potential clients.
- Job develop qualified applicants to clients or potential clients.
- Perform weekly payroll and submit to the Accounting Group.
- Monitor workers’ compensation cases.
- Attend Unemployment Compensation hearings and process UC claims.
- Screen applicants for WOTC eligibility and process forms.
- Update  employee files daily.
- Visit clients and potential clients to ensure satisfaction and obtain additional openings.
- Miscellaneous data entry, typing, copying, and filing of forms and correspondence
- Perform all other related administrative tasks as directed by Operations Manager or Management Team.
- Participate in recruiting functions and job fairs in the local area.
- Travel to regional Spherion offices to lend assistance when necessary.  


HS Diploma or GED
