Job Description

Vision! Ability to understand the company's business requirements and map them to the required technology on an ongoing constant improvement basisWorks proactively with all levels in the organization to identify business functions and processes that can be improved by applying information technology to generate increased profitsSupporting the day to day needs and problems of the ERP/MRP/CRM and related SystemsInstallation, upgrading and patching of all ERP Systems, including all 3rd party applicationsSetup and configure Development and Test environments for future upgradesMaintain users/profiles within the ERP system and DBSupport the application and servers (or SaaS) utilized by the ERP SystemsOverall health and performance of all ERP Systems including application, web and database serversPerform version and patch level upgrades / implementations of the ERP and related SoftwareCreate customizations for the ERP system using SQL, macros, & other 3rd party toolsMonitor, document, and report on changes to the database and ERP system for audit complianceMaintain and monitor ERP system backupsCreate ad hoc reports/SQL queries to extract data from the ERP system as neededIntegrate and maintain integrations of 3rd party tools into the systemsStaying current on all technologies utilized by the ERP SystemsWorking with ERP vendors to resolve problemsProactively meets with users and IT management, staff and committees to identify business requirements, create system development plans, and define the objectives and scope of projects. Provides advice on business process and system designs that solve business problems or exploit business opportunitiesERP Related Project Responsibilities:Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of ERP and related projectsDefines and builds a strong project management culture and the organizational capabilities that deliver high quality, timely and cost-effective information technology solutions Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityPossess analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical work day. You will be analyzing data and making decisions that affect the project on a regular basisYou will be working with employees, vendors and management, often spinning multiple plates at onceYou must keep your employees motivated and resolve conflictsDevelop a detailed project plan to track progressUse appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costsMeasure systems performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniquesPerform risk management to minimize project risksCreate and maintain comprehensive project documentationCreates and maintains the project development methodology and related standards. Ensures that application, data and infrastructure architectures are documented and that updates are applied to these architectural documents as changes are made. Develops business systems and technology standards in accordance with architecture decisions to ensure business and IT developer productivityContributes to the development and evolution of technical standards, and operational processes and policies of the IT department; trains staff on their use and ensures their use in the support and development activitiesManages business analysts, who generate business requirements and designs business processesResponsible for a budget as required for the system for the annual budgeting. As needed and appropriate, identifies and corrects system budget variancesOversees or conducts performance planning and review, coaching, disciplinary actions for his/her staff. Develops IT staff capabilities and skills by defining attainable career goals, developing informal training programs and providing proper on-the-job instruction and knowledge transfer from consultants and other IT department

 personnelRequirements:B.S. in the field of computer science or equivalent, an advanced degree in the management of information technology is preferredAt least 5 years of experience supporting ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent)Experience with a global manufacturing and supply chain business is ideal.Strong Database background -- you will be tasked with writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers and functionsExperience with Excel macrosAn upbeat, positive demeanor along with a genuine interest in learning new thingsKnowledge of relational databases and client/server environmentsHands-on experience installing and configuring systemsDemonstrate drive in continuous process improvement.
