Job Description

The Warehouse Operative plays an important role in ensuring the warehouse operates with optimum precision and efficiency, helping to fulfill orders and prepare them for shipment.

Assists with all shipping, receiving, and inventory organization operations
Works under supervision and direction of Distribution Manager
Helps to efficiently carry out all product loading and unloading tasks
Scans and tracks incoming and outgoing orders
Receives and processes new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents
Inspects receivables for defects, damages, or missing items
Properly scans inventory incoming goods
Unloads, stacks, moves, and places products in designated areas
Moves and transfers products between various sections of the warehouse as needed
Uses forklifts, pallet jacks, hand carts, etc. to transfer and deliver goods
Performs specific manual inventory counts
Stacks, shelves, and stages items for storage and shipments as necessary
Fulfills and tracks outgoing orders
Collects, prepares, packages, and labels goods for shipment
Ensures the warehouse policies and standard operating procedures are followed
Adheres to health and safety rules and regulations at all times
Interfaces with other warehouse team members to complete assigned tasks
Staging materials needed for production in to Manufacturing orders
Creating transfer packets needed for the transfer of material to Manufacturing Orders.

Working hours: 5:45 AM - 2:15 PM

*Previous warehouse experience preferred
*Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training
*Able to work long hours on one?s feet and perform physically demanding tasks
*Flexible with shift work and possible night hours
*Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment

High School

1-4 years

High school diploma or GED equivalent

The physical demands of this position include the ability to walk and stand on a regular basis. Must climb stairs and ladders. The ability to reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull and manipulate is required. Must occasionally lift product, from a variety of positions, up to 55 pounds. Vision, reading, talking, hearing and writing are required to perform this job.
.The job is performed inside with some exposure to the outside. The temperature is variable, based on the season and the tasks being performed. There is exposure to the -40 F freezer for no more than 10 minutes at a time. Freezer clothing is provided. There is exposure to fumes and chemical agents. There is close proximity to moving objects (forklift), hazardous machinery (pneumatic stapler, stretch wrapper). Sharp tools (utility knife) and hazardous material (dry ice). The floor surface is concrete in the warehouse and freezer area.
