Job Description

Spherion is looking for a Warehouse Office Specialist to join the Logistics team for a growing company in South Bend, IN! Candidate must have a flexible working schedule, could work any shift between 6am-7pm with an hour lunch.

1. Responsible for maintaining Quality Customer Service in accordance with Company Core Values for both internal and external customers
2. Promote & uphold Operation Clean Sweep initiatives
3. Responsible for continuous improvement as it relates to the Distribution Center's office operations, processes, Lean, training matrix updates and cross training
4. Knowledge of all Distribution Center's office operations including the processing of Shipments, use of TMS system, Label printing, processing of receipts, inventory adjustments, repacks, blends, shipment tracking and other office processes. Capable of performing all office duties and tasks.
5. Proactively communicate with service specialist and purchasing to process various shipments and receipts or communicate any delays or discrepancies when they occur.
6. Assist in the overall inventory management of the South Bend operation
7. Strive to work towards 100% accuracy in all Distribution Center metrics - on-time shipping, accuracy of shipments/receipts and inventory management. Assist in implementing action items to reduce errors
8. Actively participate in Lean and other Productivity Improvements
9. Support with the distribution center administrative tasks (i.e. sorting of mail, scanning documents to dock-link, etc.)
10. Participate in the QPA process when applicable
11. Act as part of the logistic team and assist when appropriate
12. Assist in generating monthly reports for the Distribution Center
13. Complete other tasks assigned by the Warehouse Office Manager

Working hours: Must be Flexible between 6am-7pm


A college degree in Supply Chain or other Business area of focus preferred or three to five years in a fast-paced Office/Clerical environment. Proficient in tasks requiring accounting, logistical, and all Microsoft Software skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks. The ability to read, interpret, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Effective communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a team focused environment are required. You will be expected to maintain professionalism and provide a pleasant tone on phone while answering customer questions and following up on inquires.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking periodically throughout the day; or reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting up to 25 pounds as required to file documents or store materials and/or office supplies throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. Finger and wrist dexterity with repetitive motion also required. For the most part, working conditions will be in ambient room temperatures, and lighting and traditional office equipment provided as found in a typical distribution office environment.
