Opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team of our commercial HVAC/building systems client! The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for making vendor payments as well as keeping accurate records of payments.
This role has a fully onsite schedule, Monday-Friday, 8 am- 4:30 pm. An excellent benefits package is offered which includes health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, paid holidays, and more!

Responsibilities:

- Handle the accounts payable process
- Maintain accurate records of all vendor payments
- Monitor tax liabilities and ensure tax liabilities are paid on time
- Pay and keep record of all invoices
- Keep track of all company credit card spending and make payments
- Analyze all accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure accuracy
- Collaborate across departments to perform accounting audits
- Prepare and mail all required tax documents
- Research and approve new vendors and create new vendor accounts
- Prepare weekly Accounts Payable checks
- Account for Job Costing entries
- Prepare sales invoices with prepaid discounts
- Obtain Certificates of Insurance
- Prepare some monthly general ledger entries and various daily and monthly reports
- File monthly multi-state Sales and Use tax reports
- Assist with Accounts Receivable billings and collections
- Assist in recording bank deposits and ACH deposits
- Assist with customer requests for lien waivers
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or another related field is preferred. A 2-year degree may be considered with relevant accounting experience
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting theory and processes in one or more of the following: construction, wholesale, contracting, service
- Experience using various accounting packages and report-writing knowledge
- Experience working in a multi-office environment
- Highly detail-oriented
- Ability to be organized and efficient in handling multiple tasks
- Comfortable with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of database and spreadsheet tools, such as Excel
- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively
- Professional communication skills
- Knowledge of Jonas Software and CPA certification are a plus, but not required
