Spherion is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our State of Wisconsin client's Employer Services Section. This temporary position is responsible for working directly with retirees on health insurance changes, Medicare enrollment, processing accumulated sick leave credits, and processing sick leave escrow requests in addition to other items related to disability applications. If you possess strong attention to detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment, please apply today!This position follows a flexible remote/onsite hybrid model!Responsibilities:- Support retiree case managers- Research, answer, and resolve complicated questions and problems relating to our clients benefit programs and retirement programs- Explain available benefit programs, options, eligibility requirements, and application deadlines to participating employers and members in an easy to understand format- Monitor and update changes to health insurance benefits. This includes changing how a retirees health insurance premiums are paid, assisting employers with benefits adjustments, and adjusting members monthly payments as needed- Ensure that State and Local government employees and retirees have the insurance coverages that they need when they need them- Ensure that retirees monthly payments are made timely and accuratelyWorking hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:- Strong attention to detail is an essential quality in order to meet a large number of deadlines- Good phone presence including the ability to effectively communicate benefits options and other complex informationEducation:High SchoolExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:- High school diploma or GED required- Background in insurance preferred- Ability to research, interpret, and apply relevant WI Statutes, Admin Code, and Department policies and procedures that pertain to client-administered programs- Ability to use complex and sophisticated personal computer-based software systems (Microsoft Windows applications such as Word, Excel, Access, etc.)- Ability to use complex case management, customer relationship management, and benefits processing software- Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Codes relating to the benefits administered by our client- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Apply Today!Spherion has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
